Mother' Dencia Tells Women: Beg Boko Haram To Release Your Children, Forget Government
"Cry beg Boko Haram to release your Children" Dencia tells Nigerian women
Cameroonian singer Dencia has take to Instagram
to lend her voice to the campaign for the rescue of the over 200 girls
kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents over two weeks ago.
"If
Boko Haram kidnapped my child: 1. As a mother i will be on TV crying
and begging them to release my child. nothing as heartbreaking as a
mother's tears; 2. I will be in the bushes searching (maybe cuz anger
makes me fearless); 3. my entire family will fearlessly follow me.
"Military tactics haven't worked so far, change strategies," she posted
via her Instagram account, iamdencia
After
giving a damning assessment of efforts by the Nigerian Nigerian
government, the Whitenicious brand owner challenged the mothers of the
abducted children to be more proactive and use their powers as mothers
to appeal to the abductors.
"Most women and
mothers don't know the power they have. I don't know what they have done
or have not done, but I believe you start doing the work and expect
help," Dencia wrote.
As far as Dencia was concerned, waiting for the government would be unwise.
"So
far for the government haven't done much and have lied about rescuing
the girls before so dont expect much. after all there is no politician's
child involved. Don't expect them to worry about it.
The
singer also took time to rubbish the one-million-women protest march
planned for Wednesday in Nigeria's capital, Abuja on Wednesday.
"I hear they want to hold a protest. SMH, I have seen all types of protest in Naija that never led to anything."
She then suggested that the women collectively beg the terrorists to release the children if nothing else worked.
"Can
these women save the energy and time and figure out a plan or start
recording some crying videos begging Boko Haram because its just killing
me."
Many of Dencia's Instagram fans shared the same sentiment over the matter.
One
of them, miz_goodie, wrote in reply to Dencia's post: "...By now, some
are pregnant through rape, some having sexually transmitted diseases,
maybe even aids...
"Women, mothers, take action already and forget about the government, they don't care one bit."
Do you think Dencia is right? Is the government really out of depth over this matter?
